MINING ENGINEERING
The University offers 3 years Diploma program in Mining, Mine surveying and 4 years B. Tech course in Mining. The course has been designed in such a way that it enables our students to develop themselves with the latest technology in the mining field along with knowledge of the latest equipment. Strong theoretical knowledge, Practicals in Laboratory and sufficient field Work is provided to all students
STRENGTH
The Department has highly experienced Faculty members who are Academicians/Scholars/Technocrats and have worked in all types of mines, Metal, Deep Under Ground Mines, Large Open Cast mines, the Latest Technology in India eg. High Wall Mining. Few faculties are of national and International repute. The main objective of the department is to develop the students as a complete Mining Engineer.
INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
In mining engineering field experience is a must. therefore 500+ Student have received vocational training (PDPT & PGPT) At the end of the semester, students are sent to vocational training for 28 days in various mines. Students are sent to SECL, WCL, ECL, MCL, CCL, NCL and many Metal Mines in India. 300+ Students have already qualified "Gas Testing Examination" Few Meritorious students were sent to abroad for field visit like Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand With the approval of Board of Apprenticeship Training, Mumbai we facilitate our students for one year Under Ground training in different Mines Of India.
JOB OPPORTUNITY
Mining Industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the country. At present more than 500 coal mines and 2000 metal mines are operating in India. To meet the Nation's huge demand, the production of the mineral has to increase. In the near future demand of technically qualified Mining Engineer will increase. Having qualified Diploma / B.Tech Programme Mining Engineering students are deployed in mines as a Mining Engineers. Students also get an opportunity to be placed in Explosives Company, Manufacturer of Mining Equipments, Indian Bureau of Mines, and Mining Inspectors at state levels.
PLACEMENT STATUS
Students of this University have been placed in different mines such as Hindalco, Reliance, Maihar, JP Bela, Malazhkhand, Joy Mining, Utkal Alumina, Orica, IRQS Mumbai, JP Group ( Amelia Coal Block). In abroad also there is a huge demand of qualified Mining Engineer, Planning and organizing On-Campus as well as Off-Campus recruitment activities, A number of past students of the University are now occupying highly responsible positions in various reputed and prestigious organizations
Research & Development
The University has maintained a large faculty base with varied rich experience. AKS University has continued to build the research programmes, adopting a distinctive interdisciplinary approach to meet short-term and long-term challenges faced by the industry/mines and other organizations.

MINING
AKS University, Satna is the first university in M.P. to offered B.Tech level program in Mining Engineering. The Mining engineers passing Diploma and B.Tech are finding jobs in various mines in statutory capacities. They also get absorbed in non-statutory jobs in mines and allied segments. With a very updated course structure, we are geared up to extend state-of-the-art teaching together with frequent visits of our students to Coal and other mines.
Mine/Industrial Summer/Winter Training
Faculty of Engineering &Technology incorporates a well-structured training program for the students of Diploma and Degree streams, during the semester break of 2nd, 4th, & 6th. Organisations like subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (SECL, MCL, WCL & ECL), SAIL(IISCO Collieries), SAIL(Kuteswar), Tata Steel (Sukinda), JSPL (Tensa Mines), UCIL, NMDC Ltd, MOIL Ltd, Cement plants (like Satna Cements, Prism, JP Cement, Bhilai JP-Babupur, Maihar Cement, Manikgarh Cement, RAMCO Cement, Ultra Tech Cement-Chandrapur & Ariyaluru etc) were approached to extend training facilities.
Mine Gas Testing Lab & Examination Centre
Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) had accorded approval to AKS University to conduct Gas Handling examinations and Gas Testing Examinations. In underground Coal Mines, mine gases are a source of accident and have a detrimental effect on the health of miners and all officials. Every Diploma and Degree level students, need to pass 'Gas Testing Examination being conducted by DGMS).
